Congratulations to Evan Jayla James and Cecilia Lujan Espinosa who were the Penny Drive winners. Honorable mention goes to Malachi Randall (our winner from last year) and to all of the other youth who participated. The youth at WABC raised over $600 for the building fund!

The WABC Women’s Ministry will be supporting One Sister’s Adopt a Family Program and the Union Baptist Good Shepherd Fellowship at their Hat Show and Luncheon on October 31st at 12:30 PM at the Riverfront Hilton Garden Inn. The costs of the tickets are $26.00 per person. There will be a mini hair show presented by For Your Eyes Only, a guest speaker, various door prizes, and a best hat contest (1st place prize is $100.00, 2nd Place Prize is $75.00 and 3rd place prize of $50.00). A photo session by Razorback Photography is available for $10.00. For more info please see Thomasine Flores. This event will take the place of our Girl’s Night Out Event for October. WABC says goodbye to Brittany and Cecelia Lujan Espinosa as they travel back to Kansas to reunite with their husband and father, Rufo. The family will be depart for Japan in 2010. Please keep this family in your prayers.

1st Year Anniversary

Pastor Marc and his wife Cyndi will soon celebrate one year in ministry at WABC. There will be a banquet in Pastor Marc's honor on November 7th at 6 PM at Metropolitan AME Zion, in Norfolk, Virginia. The cost of this event is $20.00 per person ($10.00 for children). On Sunday November 8th at 3 PM we will celebrate through Worship. Our guest will be the Rev. Todd C. Davidson and the members of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach VA. Please come and join in this celebration. Youth Revival 09

Its not to late to join us. Rev. Cardell Patillo will be speaking again this evening at WABC. Rev. Patillo is the youth pastor at Grove Baptist Church in Portsmouth VA. His message last night was "Ride It Tell The Wheel's Falls Off"! You will not want to miss this dynamic speaker. Join us this evening at 7 PM (and bring a friend, or two).

This Week at WABC


Join us this week (September 21st through the 24th) for Revival 09 "Renewed and on Fire for God". Due to our Revival services this week there will be no noon day bible study or Wednesday night bible study.



Seniors get ready its your time. There will be a special dinner for those of you age 60 and above on October 10th at 6 PM. We are encouraging our Seniors to bring two guest to this night of dining and entertainment. Special guest for this event will be the Kingston Jubilee. Join us for a night of food, fellowship and fun!



Pastor Marc and his wife Cyndi will be honored on October 17th at a luncheon sponsored by the Tidewater Baptist Women's Missionary and Education Convention. The luncheon will take place at the Virginia Beach Conference Center at 12 noon.



There is a Baptist General Prayer Event scheduled for October 6th at 7 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church. WABC members are encouraged to attend. Everyone is invited.



Ladies its not to late to sign up for the Cancer Walk which will be held on October 3rd in Norfolk. For more info please see Cyndi Jennings.

Revival 09


WABC get ready for Revival 09 "Renewed and On Fire For God"! Join us on September 21st and 22nd at 7 PM for our Youth Revival. Then come back on the 23rd and the 24th for our Church Revival. Our guest speaker will be the Rev. Ricky Lee, Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Chase City VA. We are challenging you to invite a friend (or two) to join us for this special occasion.

- Join us on Sunday mornings at 10 AM for Sunday Morning Bible Study. Free coffee, donuts and hot tea are available before and after class.
- There will be a First Impressions Ministry meeting on Saturday, September 19th at 10:00 AM. All members of the hospitality and ushers department are asked to attend. For more info please see Diane Robinson.
- Homecoming 09 is this coming Sunday at 4 PM. Our guest will be Rev. Willie Dickerson and the congregation of Union Zion Baptist Church, Ware Neck VA. Dinner will be served immediately following the service.
- Revival 09 begins on Monday September 21st and runs through September 24th. Our guest speakers are Rev. Cardell Patillo, Youth Pastor at Grove Baptist Church in Portsmouth (September 21st and 22nd) and Rev. Ricky Lee, Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Chase City Va (September 23rd and 24th). All services begin at 7 PM.
- Thanks goes out to everyone who helped support the L.I.P.S program Friday night. Special thanks goes out to Joyce Parker and the hospitality department.

- Don't forget that our Bread Ministry provides bread on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.

Clothing Closet


If you are in the Hamptonroads area and you have gently used clothing items you are willing to donate you can drop them off (this evening only) at 6:30 PM at WABC. We will be donating them to the clothing closet for Victory Home, which is a recovery center. They are accepting children's, women's and men's clothing (including handbags and shoes). Thanks in advance for all you do for the Kingdom.

We will be delivering the backpacks and supplies to Richard Bowling Elementary School on Friday September 4th. Those who would like to help pack the backpacks for distribution are asked to join us on Wednesday, September 2nd at 5 PM in the church fellowship area.


Homecoming is scheduled for Sunday, September 20th at 4 PM. Our guest will be Rev. Willie Dickerson and the members of Union Zion Baptist Church, Ware Neck VA.

Revival 09 begins September 23rd and 24th with special services for youth. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Cardell Patillo, Youth Pastor of Grove Baptist Church, Portsmouth VA. Please consider making a donation (non-perishable items) to our food pantry drive. Help to feed someone in need. Many of our local food pantries are in need of help. Back To School Campaign


Please support our Back to School Campaign (running August 1st through September 6th) by dropping off school supplies, or backpacks in the drop box at church. If you need a list of needed supplies please speak with Nicole Daye for more info. Our goal is to gather enough backpacks and school supplies to bless at least 150 students. We are also accepting monetary donations. All proceeds will benefit Bowling Park Elementary School in Norfolk.

Their daughter Martinique Jennings is an extra in the christian comedy. Although her family will be at the Friday performance Nicki will be at both performances, if you are not able to attend the Friday night presentation.

We would like to thank the Keeling family, descendants of Rev. Willis E. Keeling, first Pastor of Woodland Ave Baptist Church for joining us during our Sunday morning worship service. Congratulations to Autumn and Alexander Keeling Oliver who were dedicated. The twins are the children of Lorri Keeling Oliver and Walter Oliver. They are the grandchildren of Kenneth and Jean Ellis Keeling.

Congratulations Justyn Fults who was baptised on Sunday. Justyn is the son of Justyce Fults and the grandson of Calonia Fults.
