This Week at WABC


The "Golden Angels" (women 70 and up) will go on a tour of Norfolk on Tuesday morning (church van will depart at 9 AM). Your tour guides will be our very own Jason James and Caronne Sease. After the tour we will eat lunch at the Golden Corral.

There will be a All Staff Meeting on Tuesday at 7 PM. All Staff members are reminded that they should be reading "The Purpose Driven Church" book.

Join us Wednesday Nights at 6 PM for Prayer, Praise, Food, Fellowship and a Relevant word.

Youth Day is June 14th at 11:30 AM. Please join us on this casual dress down day for a time of fellowship and celebration of our Youth Ministry. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Melvin Cotton, Associate minister at Grove Baptist Church Portsmouth VA. There will be a barbecue immediately following the morning service.

VBS begins on June 22nd and runs through the 26th. Please see our VBS Director, Calonia Fults for more info or if you are interested in volunteering.

The Clara Ellis Scholarship Banquet will be held on Saturday June 27th at 3 PM at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk VA. This Year's Theme: "WABC Scholars know E=MC2: Excellence-"s Making Christ the Center of Your Life". Tickets for the banquet as well as nominee applications are now available. The cost of the tickets are $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for children. Deadline for this event is June 14th. You can leave a message at the church office or via email. WABC members and friends may speak with Thomasine Flores directly for more information.

Pastor David VanBebber of Crossroads Baptist Church, Riley Kansas will be the guest speaker on Sunday June 7th during our 11:30 AM worship service.

Special thanks goes out to Quishaun Patrick and Friends who blessed us with song this past Sunday during our Music Ministry Anniversary.

Congratulations to our Youth Choir who participated in the Youth Extravaganze held at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church this past Friday. Great job!
