Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year



Cyndi and I would like to thank the WABC family for their continued support of the ministry that is Woodland Ave Baptist Church!

We invite you to join us Christmas morning at 10 AM for our Annual joint Christmas Day Service. Rev. Caspar and the members of Bethel Baptist Church will be in charge.

On Sunday December 26th we will not have Sunday School and our Sunday Morning Worship Service will start at 10 AM.

Our Wednesday Night Bible Study and our Noon day Bible Study will resume January 2011! Please take this time to enjoy the holidays with your family and friends!

This Week at WABC


Our Wednesday night and Noonday Bible Study will resume January 2011.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual Christmas program on this past Sunday. Special thanks goes out to our Director Jenette Sapp.

Our joint Christmas Day service will take place at WABC on Saturday December 25th at 10 AM. Pastor Casper and the members of Bethel Baptist Church will be in charge.

Worship service on Sunday December 26th will take place at 10 AM. There will not be Sunday School that morning.

The WABC Youth Ministry would like to thank Pastor Geoff Stewart and the youth of Peace Portal Alliance Church, British Columbia for their generous donation of bibles for our Youth and Children's Church Ministry.

The Men's Ministry End of Year Fellowship Breakfast on Saturday has been moved to the Golden Corral, Kempsville Road location in Virginia Beach. And the time has been changed to 8 AM.

Marquisha Jennings is offering free Gift Wrapping Services to the members of WABC. You provide the gift and wrapping supplies and she will provide the gift wrapping service(love tips accepted).If you are interested you can bring the gift and supplies to Wednesday Night Bible Study for the next four weeks. Our Annual Joint Thanksgiving Eve services will be held on Wednesday November 24th at 7 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, Norfolk VA. There will not be a Wednesday Night Bible Study on that day.

WABC will honor our Seniors (60 years of age or older) with an appreciation dinner at a local restaurant on November 28th immediately following our morning worship service.

WABC is excited to announce that the speakers for our Youth/Young Adult and Church Revival this year will be Rev. Melvin Cotton, Associate Minister at Grove Baptist Church in Portsmouth and Rev. Dr. Erwin M. Scott, Pastor of First Lynhaven Baptist Church in Virginia Beach VA. Our Youth and Church Revival is set to take place on September 20th through the 23rd (7 PM Nightly).

WABC Women's Day



Join us for our Annual Women's Day Celebrations on Sunday May 23rd during our 11:30 AM worship service. Our speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Pamela Chandler Lee, of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Chase City Virginia. WABC women we will be wearing pink in honor of the occasion.

There will be an all day workshop on Saturday May 22nd entitled "The Sweet Life Cafe" where women come and Savor the Sweet Life! Savor time with God, Savor time with friends and Savor moments spent serving others. You will leave this workshop feeling nourished, satisfied, and full of the bread of life. The cost of this event is $20.00 per person (this includes continental breakfast and lunch). Followed by our Annual Women's Day service on Sunday May 23rd at 11:30 AM. Our speaker will be the Rev. Pamela Chandler Lee, of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Chase City Virginia.

Ladies interested in attending the WOF Conference in August need to speak with June James about securing your ticket. We have ten tickets available at a cost of $89.00 per person (this does not include transportation, or hotel cost). A deposit is due no later then May 1st. We have room for 4 more ladies!
