This Week at WABC


There will be an All Staff Meeting on Tuesday July 7th at 7 PM. All Staff members are reminded that they should be reading "The Purpose Driven Church" book.

Join us Wednesday Nights at 6 PM for Prayer, Praise, Food, Fellowship and a Relevant word.

Join us on Sunday mornings at 10 AM for Sunday Morning Bible Study. Free coffee, donuts and hot tea are available before and after class.

WABC would like to congratulate all of its 2009 graduates.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Clara M Ellis scholarship banquet on Saturday at Mt. Gilead. Special thanks goes out to Thomasine Flores and all of those who worked with her to make this event successful.

Thank you to everyone who stayed for the Family and Friends Day Celebration with Monticello Baptist Church on yesterday afternoon.

We will be celebrating Men's Day on July 12th during our 11:30 AM worship service. Rev. Nathanial Mitchell, associate Minister of Gethsemane Baptist Church will deliver the message.

The Keeling family, descendants of Rev. Willis E. Keeling, who was the first Pastor of Woodland Ave Baptist Church will be visiting us on July the 12th.

Studio GO Closing Program

We would like to thank everyone who participated in Studio Go this week. Special thanks goes out to all of our teachers, and assistants. A special shout out goes to our chef for the week Tiffaney James! You all showed the love of Christ and exercised the gifts that God has given you. We would especially like to thank our VBS Director, Calonia Fults for doing such an outstanding job! Without your leadership this event would not have been the success it was. GO, GO, GO WABC!!!! Studio Go VBS Day 4

Today is the last day of Studio Go at WABC! Come and join us for our closing program tonight starting at 6 PM (dinner will be served immediately following the program). Our children will be presenting tonight so we would like to see all of their friends and family members present. WABC is preparing to Go Lead, Go Risk, Go Tell, Go Serve, Go Obey, and Go Serve! Studio Go VBS Camp

This Week at WABC

Join us for vacation bible school this week starting at 6 PM each night (registration starts at 5:30 PM on Monday). Get ready for Real Teamwork, Real Service and Real Fun!

Please join us for the annual Clara M Ellis Scholarship Banquet this coming Saturday, June 27th at 3 PM. The banquet will be held at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Norfolk VA.

Join us on Sunday mornings at 10 AM for Sunday Morning Bible Study. Free coffee, donuts and hot tea are available before and after class.

Invite a friend to WABC. All guest are invited to join us on 4th Sunday's for a special "Meet and Greet", immediately following our Sunday Worship Service.

We will be traveling to Monticello Baptist Church this coming Sunday at 2PM. Pastor Marc will be the guest minister and all members and ministries are asked to be in attendance.

This Week at WABC

There will be a special meeting on Friday June 15th at 7 PM. All Deacons, Trustees and Members of the finance committee are asked to be in attendance. This meeting is mandatory.

Vacation Bible School starts next week (June 22nd through June 26th). Please make sure you are signed up for the week of activities (we also offer adult and teen classes). So get ready for Real Teamwork, Real Service and Real Fun!

We would like to thank everyone who participated in our Youth Day Celebrations. Special thanks goes out to Rev. Melvin Cotton and his wife. Rev. Cotton thank you for such a inspiring message. Photos from the Open Mike Night and the Sunday service can now be found in our church gallery.

Volunteers are needed for our Noon Day Bible Study. We are in need of van drivers and teachers to facilitate this program. Please see Jenette Sapp for more details.

Youth Day Celebrations 09


The WABC Youth Ministry will celebrate with a special "Youth Day" to be held on June 14th at our 11:30 AM service. Friday night (June 12th at 7 PM) we will begin the celebration with an Open Mike Night. Dinner will be served! So kids come out, bring a friend and show us what you got! Our guest speaker for Sunday morning will be Rev. Melvin Cotton associate minister of Grove Baptist Church, Portsmouth VA. Dress attire is casual and there will be a picnic immediately following the morning service. Our youth are in a war and we don't plan for the enemy to win! Join us in the battle cry! Don't forget to tell your family and friends to join us that morning for a lifesaving experience.

Bread Ministry Highlighted

Starting this month we will begin highlighting the various ministries offered at WABC. Bread is given out on 1st and 3rd Sundays after our morning worship service. This service is free and open to all. You can see Richard Parker for more info.

Melvin Cotton, Associate minister at Grove Baptist Church Portsmouth VA. There will be a barbecue immediately following the morning service.

We would like to thank Pastor David VanBebber and his wife Cheryl for visiting us on Sunday. Pastor David's message " Let Your Light Shine" was very inspiring.

This Week at WABC


The "Golden Angels" (women 70 and up) will go on a tour of Norfolk on Tuesday morning (church van will depart at 9 AM). Your tour guides will be our very own Jason James and Caronne Sease. After the tour we will eat lunch at the Golden Corral.

Pastor David VanBebber of Crossroads Baptist Church, Riley Kansas will be the guest speaker on Sunday June 7th during our 11:30 AM worship service.

Special thanks goes out to Quishaun Patrick and Friends who blessed us with song this past Sunday during our Music Ministry Anniversary.

Congratulations to our Youth Choir who participated in the Youth Extravaganze held at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church this past Friday. Great job!
