Happy New Year




Our 2014 theme is “We Can Take It From Here”!

An All Staff Meeting will take place on Tuesday February 4th at 7 PM. Please have any scheduled events for 2014 ready to submit for this year’s calendar.

The Deacons Ministry will meet every Second Tuesday of the month.

Our Black History Program is scheduled for Sunday February 16th. More info to come.
We are in the process of updating our member’s info. Please fill out the info sheet enclosed in the bulletin and pass it in to Pastor Marc.

The month of February will be a Month of Prayer at WABC. We are asking the Leadership Staff of WABC to fast the day of our All Staff meeting. We will come together that night for a time of Prayer and Vision for 2014.

Celebrate Christmas 2013 Events



There will be a Christmas Breakfast hosted by Erica Morrison on December 15th at 8 AM. The cost of this event is $6.00 per person. Proceeds support our Building Fund. 

A "Ugly Sweater" Potluck will take place on Sunday December 15th following our morning service. This is a Family event. Everyone is invited. You are asked to bring a dish to share and there will be a Christmas Ornament Exchange during the game portion of the event. Come be a part of this fun event and get a chance to be crowned the Best Ugly Christmas sweater winner!

Our Christmas Play will take place Wednesday December 18th at 6 PM.

The youth of WABC will give a special presentation on Sunday December 22nd. 

New Years Eve Service will take place on December 31st at 10:30 PM. 



This Week at WABC



Thank you to everyone who came out to serve our seniors during the Senior Appreciation Day lunch at Golden Corral.

Our Joint Thanksgiving Eve service will take place on Wednesday November 27th at Mount Lebanon BC, Norfolk. There will not be a evening bible study this week do to the Holiday service.

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving Holiday.

Thank You



Pastor Marc, Lady Cyndi and the Anniversary commitee would like to thank everyone who helped make this special weekend a success. Special thanks goes out to Dr. Ray McKenzie, Rev. Clyde Lacewell, Pastor Charles Beamon and the Fourth Baptist Church family for their support. Pastor Marc and Lady J would especially like to thank their family and friends for their continued support to them and this ministry. Pastor Marc and Lady Cyndi Celebrate 5 years at WABC


We are excited to announce the 5th Anniversary of Pastor Marc and Lady Cyndi at WABC. A luncheon will be held in their honor on November 9th at 2 pm at New Hope UCC (145 E Liberty Street), Norfolk VA in the churches fellowship hall. The cost of tickets are $30.00 each and can be purchased by sending a check c/o Woodland Ave Baptist Church, 2736 Woodland Ave, Norfolk VA 23504 no later then October 29th. The speaker of the hour will be Dr. Ray McKenzie, Professor at Virginia Union School of Theology and Senior Pastor of Gravel Hill BC, in Varina VA.

We wrap up the official celebration on Sunday November 10th with two service. Rev. Clyde Lacewell, Associate Minister of Fourth Baptist Church Portsmouth VA will speak during our 11:30 AM service and Pastor Charles Beamon and the Fourth Baptist Church family will join us that afternoon at 2:30 pm.

We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Fall Revival and Homecoming 2013!!



Join us for our Annual Fall Revival on September 16th through September 19th. Our guest speaker on Monday night will be Rev. Akeem Walker, Pastor of First Baptist Missionary Church of Powersville, in Powersville NC. Our devotional leaders will be New Light BC, Norfolk VA along with their choir and ushers. Tuesday nights speaker is Pastor-Elect Melvin Cotton of New Genesis BC in Virginia Beach VA along with his church choir and ushers. Wednesday nights speaker is Rev. Juan Turnes, associate minister at Saint Thomas AME Church in Norfolk VA. The Men of WABC will be singing that night and the WABC family will be in charge of the service. We end our week with our very own Pastor Marc speaking on Thursday. Our guest church will be Messiah Presbyterian Church and choir, Norfolk VA. Our theme this year is "Time For A Change"!!! The doors open at 7 PM.

Get ready for an exciting week that will end with our annual Homecoming Service on September 22nd. Pastor Samuel Logan and New Hope BC Church, Chesapeake VA will be our guest.
