Whats Happening at WABC

WABC will celebrate Homecoming on September 21st at 2:30. Pastor Melvin Cotton and the New Genesis family will be our guest.

A church conference is scheduled for September 2nd at 7 pm.

Noon day bible study will resume in September. Please speak with Jenette Sapp for further info. Evening bible study will start September 3rd at 7 pm. There will not be a meal served beforehand.

Pastor Marc and the WABC family will travel to New Hope CCC on October 5th and to Greater Mount Zion BC on October 12th. We will celebrate our church anniversary on October 26th. Enoch BC will be our guest.


Honorees for the missions banquet this year are Thomasine Flores and Elizabeth Harrell. The luncheon will be held on October 18th. You can speak with Irma Rogers for ticket info.

Pastor Marc and Lady J will celebrate 6 years at WABC on November 9th. Pastor Sam Logan and the New Hope BC of Chesapeake will be our guest.

5th Sundays will now be dressed down Sunday at WABC. This Sunday we are asking everyone to wear their favorite sports jersey ( if you have one). Its also baptism Sunday! If your a candidate for baptism please speak with Pastor Marc.

Upcoming Events and Announcements

Join us Sundays at 11:30 AM for our Sunday morning service. Free donuts and coffee are served just before service begins.

Wednesday noon and evening bible studys will resume in September.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Men's Day celebration last Sunday. Special thanks to Rev. Haynes of Monticello BC our guest speaker for the evening. Photos can now be found on our Facebook page.

The Men will host a breakfast at the Golden Corral at Kempsville in August. Additional info will be up on our Facebook page.

Reservations has closed for our annual Women's Workshop which will take place on August 2nd at 8:30 AM.

Pastor Marc and Lady J will be on vacation the 2nd and 3rd Sunday in August.

The Ushers and Hospitality Ministry are scheduled to have their anniversary 4th Sunday in August. More info to come.

Baptism will take place on 5th Sunday in August. If you are a candidate for Baptism please speak with Pastor Marc.

Join us each Sunday at 11:30 AM for our Sunday morning worship service. Bible study is held every Wednesday at noon and 7 PM.

There will be a special Prayer Breakfast hosted by the Deaconess Ministry on Saturday May 24th. The cost is $10. pp and the guest speaker is Mrs.Michelle Ferebee. 

We will honor Pastor Rob and Lady Di this Sunday at 3 PM as they transition out of the area. Please come out and show your support.

The Deacons Ministry meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7 PM. The Deaconess Ministry meets on the 1st Saturday of the month at 1 PM. The Missions Ministry meets on every 2nd Saturday of the month at 10:30 AM. Choir Rehearsal are held each Saturday at 2 PM; with the exception of the Men's Choir which meets on the Friday before the third Sunday at 7 PM.

Its almost time to register for our annual VBS Camp. More info can be found on our Youth page!

Youth Day is set to take place on June 8, along with our annual Clara Ellis Scholarship Banquet which is set for June 28th. More info to come in the following weeks.

Operation Andrew

 Operation Andrew is a ministry started by Pastor Marc in partnership with our Missions Ministry. Pastor Marc was lead to start this ministry after hearing about the need from a fellow student at Virginia Union Unniversity.  Anyone in the 804 or 757 can drop off their gently used clothing on Wednesday nights or Sunday during service to be sent to benefit the African village of Liberia. For more info speak with Pastor Marc or one of the Missions Ministry members. You can also donate shoes, cooking utensils, toiletry items, aspirin, vitamins etc.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. You drop off the items and we will box them up and see that they are sent to the distribution center in Richmond.  This is an ongoing ministry at WABC so keep the donations coming!

The Emma F Gregory Missionary Ministry will celebrate its anniversary this coming Sunday at 2 PM. Our guest church will be Union United COC.

Our annual Friends and Family Day weekend will take place on May 3rd-4th. Our guest on Sunday afternoon will be the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church family. Join us that Saturday for our annual Friends and Family picnic at 12 noon.

There will be a church conference on May 6th at 7 PM.

Join us Mothers Day at WABC. If you would like to submit a memorial for our memorial book please speak with one of the Deaconess at WABC.

The next choir rehearsal for our special Women's Day Choir will take place on May 5th at 7 PM. Any lady who would like to join is encouraged to come out and participate.

Join us for our annual Women's Day service on May 18th at 11:30 and 2:30. Our speaker that morning will be Rev. Anna Copeland, Associate minister at New Hope Baptist Church in Chesapeake VA. Our guest musician will be Mrs. Olivia Jennings. That afternoon we will have a special service featuring "Women of Every Generation". Special guest include the Young Adult Praise team from New Hope BC and the Praise Team from Calvary Revival Chesapeake, VA. Join us that day as we Celebrate Women!

Goodbye Celebration

After nearly five years at WABC as Pastor Marc's Assistant to the Pastor Rev. Robert and Lady Dianne Robinson will be relocating out of the area, We cannot let them leave without giving them a proper goodbye. We invite you to join us on May 25th at 3 PM as we celebrate the contribution to the ministry that is WABC.

Join us on 5th Sunday in March for a very special Baptism service.

There will be an All Staff meeting on April 2nd at 2 PM.

The Youth Ministry is now collecting plastic Easter eggs and Easter candy for our Easter Eggstravaganza which will take place on Easter Sunday (April 20th). We encourage you to invite your family and friends to join us that morning for our Easter Sunday service. Family portraits will be offered free of charge that day.

Our Annual Family and Friends Day picnic will take place on Saturday May 3rd at noon.Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church will join us on May 4th for our Annual Family and Friends Day service 2:30 PM.

There will be a Church Conference on May 6th at 7 PM.

Our Annual Women's Day service will take place on May 18th at 11:30 AM followed by an afternoon celebration at 2 PM.

The WABC family will host a special service on May 25th in honor of Assistant to the Pastor Rev. Robert Robinson and his wife Dianne who will be retiring and moving out of the area at the end of May.
