This Week at WABC



There will be a church conference this Tuesday at 7 PM.

Join us Wednesday Nights at 7 PM for Prayer, Praise, Food, Fellowship and a Relevant word. We are studying The Purpose Driven Church by Pastor Rick Warren. We also offer noonday bible study on Wednesday afternoons. The topic of conversation is the Gospel According to John.

Join us on Sunday mornings at 10 AM for Sunday Morning Bible Study. Free coffee, donuts and hot tea are available before and after class.

Special thanks goes out to the congregation and members of Enoch Baptist Church for closing out our 71st Church Anniversary on this past Sunday.

Please speak with Cynthia Jennings, Erica Morrison or Thomasine Flores if you are interested in accompanied the Youth Ministry to the R-Ranch on October 31st at 6 PM. The cost for adults is $5.00 per person (youth will attend at no cost, but a head count will be needed in advance). Deadline is this Wednesday.

The WABC Women’s Ministry will be supporting One Sister’s Adopt a Family Program and the Union Baptist Good Shepherd Fellowship at their Hat Show and Luncheon on October 31st at 12:30 PM at the Riverfront Hilton Garden Inn. The costs of the tickets are $26.00 per person. There will be a mini hair show presented by For Your Eyes Only, a guest speaker, various door prizes, and a best hat contest (1st place prize is $100.00, 2nd Place Prize is $75.00 and 3rd place prize of $50.00). A photo session by Razorback Photography is available for $10.00. For more info please see Thomasine Flores. This event will take the place of our Girl’s Night Out Event for October. Please speak with Thomasine no later then Tuesday.

Pastor Rob is taking orders for holiday fruit baskets. If you are interested in placing an order you can leave a message at the church office or speak with him directly. All proceeds benefit the church building fund.

The holidays are right around the corner and our local foodbanks need our support. If you would like to make a donation you can contact Raymond or Marilyn Caffee for more info.

The Men's Ministry is seeking donations of Men's Suits for its Men's Suit Drive. If you have gently used suits that you would be willing to donate please speak with Ellis Ivy.

The Youth Ministry will be sponsoring a coat drive during the month of November and December. We will collect new and gently used coats for the next two months. For more info please speak with Nicole Daye.

The deadline for tickets for the 1st Anniversary banquet of Pastor Marc is fast approaching. If you would like to purchase tickets please speak with June James, Calonia Fults or Diane Robinson. You can also leave a name an number on the answering machine at the church office.

Congratulations to Erica Morrison on the dedication of her baby granddaughter Zariah Morrison. Photos may now be seen here.

WABC says goodbye to Brittany and Cecelia Lujan Espinosa as they travel back to Kansas to reunite with their husband and father, Rufo. The family will be depart for Japan in 2010. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Thank you to Rev. John Myers and the members of Corinth Chapel UCC, Suffolk VA for joining us for our 71st Anniversary celebrations. We wrap up our anniversary celebrations on Sunday October 25th. Our guest will be Rev. Michael Daniel and the members of Enoch Baptist Church. Dinner will be served.


Pastor Marc and the members of WABC travel to New Light Baptist Church Chesapeake on Sunday, October 23rd at 3 PM. The service will take place at Greater Bethel Baptist Church, Chesapeake VA (2320 Cedar Road).


WABC youth interested in attending the "Holy Ghost Wiener Roast" will need to sign up in advance. Please see Cyndi Jennings or Erica Morrison for more details.

The luncheon will take place at the Virginia Beach Convention Center at 12 noon. The luncheon will be recorded this year and DVD's will be sold for $10.00 each. For each dvd sold $2.00 will be donated to the Tidewater Baptist Women's Missionary and Education Convention. Kingston Jubilee


The Senior Adult Ministry of WABC would like to thank the Kingston Jubilee for providing the music this evening during our night of dining and entertainment. Seniors get ready its your time. There will be a special dinner for those of you age 60 and above on October 10th at 6 PM. We are encouraging our Seniors to bring two guest to this night of dining and entertainment. Special guest for this event will be the Kingston Jubilee.
